Your Story Deserves to Be Understood
Immigration cases can bring up difficult experiences, painful memories, and emotions that are not always easy to put into words. My role is to take the time to understand your experience and document the emotional and psychological impact in a way that is thoughtful, thorough, and clinically sound.
What Type of Evaluation Do I Need?
Extreme Hardship
Document the psychological and emotional impact separation or relocation could have on a qualifying family member.
U Visa
Document trauma-related effects associated with qualifying criminal victimization.
VAWA
Document the psychological impact of abuse, coercion, and other harmful relationship experiences.
Asylum
Document psychological effects associated with persecution, trauma, displacement, or fear of returning.
“What is an immigration psychological evaluation?”
An immigration psychological evaluation is a clinical assessment that helps tell the emotional and psychological side of your immigration story. It gives you space to talk about what you have experienced, how those experiences have affected you and your family, and what you may be dealing with emotionally today.
My role is to listen carefully, ask questions that help me understand the full picture, and document those experiences in a thorough psychological report that can be provided to your immigration attorney. The evaluation does not determine the outcome of your case, but it can provide important clinical context that helps your attorney show the human impact behind the legal circumstances.
Your Evaluation May Include
✓ Clinical interview
✓ Relevant personal and trauma history
✓ Psychological screening measures
✓ Clinical impressions
✓ Comprehensive written report
✓ Attorney collaboration with your permission
What to Expect
A Clinical Process That Still Feels Human
An immigration evaluation is a clinical process, but I never want it to feel cold or like you are just another case. I take the time to listen, understand your experiences, and give you space to share your story without feeling rushed or judged.
My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and culturally responsive. I also understand that some of the things we may discuss can be difficult to revisit. My goal is to make the process feel as comfortable and supportive as possible while still completing a thorough evaluation that clearly documents the emotional and psychological impact of what you have experienced.
When appropriate, I also work collaboratively with your immigration attorney so that the clinical information included in your evaluation is clear, relevant, and helpful to your case.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
“Your immigration case is only one part of your story. My job is to help make sure the emotional impact of what you have experienced does not get lost in the paperwork.”
For Immigration Attorneys
I welcome referrals from immigration attorneys seeking psychological evaluations for their clients. My goal is to provide a thorough, trauma-informed evaluation that clearly documents your client's experiences, current psychological functioning, and the emotional impact of the circumstances relevant to their immigration matter.
I understand that behind every petition, declaration, and piece of documentation is a person with a much larger story. I approach each evaluation with care while also providing the clinical detail and professional documentation needed for the legal process.
I provide:
Comprehensive clinical interviews
Trauma-informed and culturally responsive assessment
Appropriate psychological screening measures when clinically indicated
Detailed written psychological reports
Clear documentation of relevant symptoms and functional impact
Collaboration with the referring attorney, with the client's authorization
Professional communication throughout the evaluation process
My role is not to determine the legal merits or outcome of a case. My role is to provide an independent clinical assessment and clearly communicate my findings within my professional scope.
Have a Client Who May Benefit From an Evaluation?
If you are unsure whether a psychological evaluation may be appropriate for a particular case, you are welcome to reach out before making a referral.

You do not have to have an immigration attorney before reaching out to me. However, because I provide the psychological evaluation and cannot provide legal advice, I strongly recommend working with a qualified immigration attorney who can determine how an evaluation may fit into your case.
-
Yes. Evaluations are completed virtually through a secure telehealth platform, so you can participate from a private and comfortable space. You must be physically located in a state where I am licensed at the time of the evaluation.
-
The amount of time needed can vary depending on your case and what we need to discuss. Immigration evaluations are more in-depth than a typical therapy session, so we will make sure there is enough time to understand your history, current circumstances, and how your experiences have affected you emotionally and psychologically.
-
Your report is completed after the clinical interview, assessments, and any necessary information have been gathered. I will provide you with an expected turnaround time before we begin so you and your attorney know what to expect. If you have an upcoming immigration deadline, please let me know when you reach out.
-
Yes, with your written permission. I can provide the completed psychological evaluation directly to your immigration attorney and communicate with them when clarification or additional information is needed.
-
Depending on your case, we may need to talk about experiences that are difficult or painful. I understand that telling your story can bring up a lot emotionally, so I approach these conversations with care and will not expect you to rush through difficult experiences just to complete the evaluation.
-
No. A psychological evaluation can provide important clinical information that helps your attorney tell a more complete story about your experiences and their emotional impact, but I cannot guarantee or predict the outcome of an immigration case. My role is to provide an independent, thorough, and clinically supported evaluation.
-
I currently provide virtual immigration psychological evaluations for eligible individuals located in Texas, Virginia, and Connecticut. Because services are provided virtually, you will need to be physically located in one of these states at the time of your evaluation.
